Program Description:

 

Hands on Science Training

Are you interested in learning about how to spark science and cultivate curiosity in your members? Join us for the Hands-on Science training, where leaders will learn how to introduce the Steps to Inquiry, improve your science knowledge and experimentation skills, and learn how to highlight the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math that already exists in many 4-H projects. Upon completion of the training, you will be a Science Champion, and will work to promote and champion science in your 4-H club and greater community.

And here are a few more details about what the two days of training will contain:

Day 1:

  • Hands-on Science welcome activity, and introduction to the Hands-on Science model
  • Get Messy! – Hands-on experiments throughout the day to allow participants to experience and understand concepts
  • Steps to Inquiry – The easy method of incorporating scientific inquiry into any activity
  • Summarize the content covered and address any questions, comments, concerns

Day 2:

  • Revisit the previous day’s training to cement skills, methods and understanding
  • Provide easy, accessible takeaways, that allow participants to incorporate
  • Address any final questions, comments, concerns
