Program Description:

 

This clinic is designed so those participating and organizing the 4-H Horse Project Sale will have a clear plan to follow to market the event. Everyone interested in selling horses is welcome to attend and will benefit from the topics covered.

Topics to be covered:

  • Equine Valuation
  • Catalogue design and writing footnotes
  • Sale organization
  • Sale marketing plan
  • Lead generation and attracting buyers

What to bring

  • Sale Horse Information
    • Registration papers
    • Training/show record
    • Sire/Dam information and records
    • Health status (vaccinations, dewormer, farrier)
  • Electronic high resolution photos of their horse (on USB stick or on cloud based storage)
  • Five names of people or businesses who are potential buyers they will target and take the catalogue to
  • Notebook, pen

Cost

  • $20 per person. Please bring a bag lunch. Juice and coffee will be provided.

Clinician

Katie Roxburgh is an APHA Professional Horseman and Certified Equine Appraiser. Katie specializes in preparing youth and amateurs for APHA, AQHA and PtHA breed and open shows. She has trained youth clients to AJPHA World and Reserve World Championships and raised, trained and shown multiple horses to National PtHA Championships. Katie spends several weekends a year judging 4-H and light horse shows and sharing her knowledge as a clinician with enthusiastic horsemen and women.
